We are a medical service business. Our primary task is to solve our client's pet medical problems by maintaining the highest standards in doctors and veterinary medicine. We are more than
just an animal clinic. Wildwood Animal Hospital & Clinic is a multi-faceted care facility and can be described as follows: Convenient hours, a nice place to bring your pet, leadership in the field of veterinary medicine, convenient location, quality pet products, service, people, and convenient parking
We strive to operate our business on the sound business practice that ensures our growth and success. Our standards include: A clean hospital, knowledgeable, courteous employees, good employee training, quality pet health care, caring and efficient reception service, and doctors who have a love for animals.
Wildwood Animal Clinic was established in 1977 by Dr. John Kolpanen at 2411 South Maple Avenue. Born and raised locally, Dr. Kolpanen returned to bring small animal medicine and surgery to this area after a number of years in a Chicago small animal exclusive veterinary practice. Due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident, he was obliged to sell his practice to Dr. Roger Krogstad in 1981. Dr. Krogstad was a 1980 veterinary graduate of Iowa State University with his first year in practice in a multi doctor exclusively small animal practice in Milwaukee. At purchase, the hospital was renamed Wildwood Animal Hospital and the current employee Terri Olson(Lenz) retained as the only employee for the first two years. AAHA certification was attained within the first two years as a commitment to small animal medicine. The first move to 217 West 14th Street in 1986 doubled the size of the hospital. Our most recent move to 210 Airpark Road in October 2005, tripled the size of our hospital facilities giving us the room needed for continued growth.
In 2015, Wildwood Animal Hospital was named Small Business of the Year by Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Dr. Krogstad pursued a well-deserved retirement in December 2017. This resulted in the purchase of Wildwood Animal Hospital in March of 2018 by Dr. Jerry Bellin from Dr. Krogstad. Dr. Bellin is a veterinary graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Since his graduation he has worked in a few small animal practices, both corporate and private. He was a previous owner of a franchise, Banfield Pet Hospital in Madison, WI and owned and operated his own mobile home visit service in Green Bay for 3 1/2 years.
We are also one of only a handful of veterinary hospitals in the entire state who has passed the rigorous inspection of the American Animal Hospital Association and has been honored by being awarded repeated accreditations as a AAHA hospital.
