Certified Veterinary Technician

Wildwood Animal Hospital, an AAHA-accredited, Fear-Free hospital, is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate and skilled team. We are dedicated to providing top-quality care to our patients while creating a stress-free environment for them and their families.

As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional medical care, working closely with our veterinarians and support staff. We are looking for a detail-oriented, hardworking, and dedicated individual who is passionate about animal care and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Assist veterinarians with patient exams, surgical procedures, and treatments

•   Administer anesthesia, monitor patients during surgery, and provide post-operative care

•   Perform diagnostic tests, including lab work, radiology, and dental procedures

•   Educate clients on preventative care, post-treatment instructions, and Fear-Free techniques

•   Maintain medical records and ensure accurate documentation of treatments and medications

•   Assist with patient handling, always following Fear-Free protocols to reduce stress and anxiety

•   Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment

•   Administer medications, vaccines, and controlled substances, adhering to all regulatory guidelines

•   Support hospital efficiency by assisting with inventory management and organization

Qualifications:

•   Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with a 2-year degree from an accredited veterinary technology program

•   Successful completion of the certification exam is required

•   Knowledge of AAHA standards and Fear-Free techniques is preferred

•   Strong skills in communication, teamwork, and multitasking

•   Ability to provide compassionate, respectful care to both patients and clients

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Job Overview

Wildwood Animal Hospital and Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting our veterinary technicians and doctors in providing high-quality care for our patients, including both routine and surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well in a fast paced environment, and has a passion for being an advocate for the pet.

Key Responsibilities

– Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians during exams, and surgeries, and treatments.
– Properly restrain pets during procedures, following fear-free protocols to minimize stress for patients.
– Clean and sterilize surgical instruments, dental equipment, and exam rooms according to AAHA standards.
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites.
– Assist with patient care, including feeding, walking, and providing comfort to hospitalized pets.
– Prepare surgical and treatment areas with necessary equipment and supplies.
– Monitor animals before, during and after surgeries and treatments, alerting staff to any concerning changes.
– Assist in the preparation and completion of medical records and documentation.
– Support the veterinary team by restocking supplies, handling laundry, and performing other duties as needed.
– Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care instructions and follow-up appointments.

Requirements

– High school diploma or equivalent required.
– Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
– Willingness to being committed to continuous learning and growth.
– Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, sit, kneel, crouch for extended periods of time.
– Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
– Excellent communication skills for interacting with both staff and pet owners.
– A passion for animal welfare/advocacy and commitment to providing exceptional care.

Veterinary Receptionist

Are you passionate about animals and have a strong desire to provide exceptional service to their families? Wildwood Animal Hospital is looking for a friendly and dedicated Veterinary Receptionist to join our team!

As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Answer and make phone calls to clients in a professional and courteous manner

•   Respond to emails and text messages efficiently

•   Schedule appointments and manage patient check-ins

•   Ensure that exam rooms are clean and fully stocked between appointments

•   Assist with general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the hospital

•   Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, crouch, kneel, and stand or sit for extended periods

•   Work collaboratively with veterinary staff to provide seamless care to our clients

 Qualifications:

•   Previous experience in a veterinary or medical office is helpful but not required

•   Excellentphone etiquette and written communication skills

•   Abilityto multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment

•   Apositive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for client service and animalcare

•   Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
