Employment Opportunities

Associate Veterinarian

At Wildwood Animal Hospital & Clinic, we believe pets are family and we also believe veterinarians deserve a workplace where they are supported, respected, and not expected to survive on caffeine and emotional resilience alone.

We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to provide compassionate and ethical veterinary care while helping strengthen the bond between pets and the people who love them. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who values client education, thoughtful medicine, teamwork, and a clinic culture where people actually help each other.

Wildwood is a privately owned, AAHA-accredited and Fear Free certified hospital committed to excellent patient care, outstanding client service, and a supportive team environment.

What Makes This Role a Great Fit?

This position is well-suited for both experienced veterinarians and new or recent graduates looking for mentorship, coaching, and room to grow.

Our practice owners and medical team are committed to supporting veterinarians in their careers through:

  • Collaborative case discussions
  • Structured feedback
  • Skill-building opportunities
  • Practical coaching in medical decision making, communication, and client education
  • A team that remembers nobody came out of veterinary school knowing everything — and that is perfectly okay

Most of our patients are canine and feline, but approximately 10–15% of our patient population includes exotic species, such as:

  • Small mammals
  • Reptiles
  • Amphibians
  • Birds

An interest in exotics is welcomed, though not required. For the veterinarian who is curious, this provides a great opportunity to expand skills beyond the standard dog and cat routine.

What We Value

  • Compassionate, ethical, and patient-focused medicine
  • Comfortable building trust with clients through education
  • Team-oriented and respectful of support staff
  • Interested in strengthening the human-animal bond
  • Willing to keep learning and growing
  • Aligned with AAHA standards and Fear Free principles

We take client education seriously because informed clients make better decisions for their pets. We take teamwork seriously because veterinary medicine is hard enough without making it harder on each other.

Employee Well-Being Matters Here

At Wildwood, employee well-being is not just a nice phrase for a job ad. We work to provide a positive, balanced, and enriching environment where doctors can practice good medicine while still having a life outside the clinic.

Life in Marshfield

Marshfield offers a wonderful quality of life with excellent schools, affordable living, and a close knit community. We enjoy the charm and practicality of Central Wisconsin while still being conveniently located about a 3-hour drive from Minneapolis, Madison, Green Bay, and Milwaukee.

Small-town life, big city access, and no need to parallel park daily not a bad combination.
