Third Party Pharmacies

While we understand your desire to fill a prescription medication elsewhere, we no longer approve requests from third party pharmacies via fax or email. If you’d like to fill a prescription with a pharmacy other than us, you will be given a written prescription. This form can be picked up from our clinic and may incur up to a $20 fee.

There are several reasons why we have chosen to support this policy:
  • The staff at Wildwood want to ensure safe medications are given to our patients. Third party pharmacies have had issues with medications. Some concerns with outside pharmacies have included selling counterfeit medication, selling medication past expiration date, and improperly storing or shipping medication. It is also harder for us to track refills and monitor patient rechecks when medications are filled through an outside pharmacy. This decreases our ability to provide the level of care we would like for your pet.
  • Approving third party prescriptions takes time away from providing patient care in the clinic as well. There is added time to refilling these prescriptions due to the multiple emails, faxes, and phone calls we get from pharmacies. Many times we resend approvals multiple times before the pharmacy receives it. All of this takes time away for our patients that are in the clinic needing care.

If you like the convenience of ordering online, we recommend ordering directly from our associated pharmacy. If you’d like to order from a pharmacy other than ours, please use local reputable pharmacies.
